Cake Poker has been opened since 2005 and has been able to grow there online poker room at a steady pace over the past four years. As the poker room becomes more mainstream in the poker industry and more players start playing in the poker room I expect it to become one of the most popular online poker rooms out there. Cake Poker already offers some very unique features which other poker rooms don’t offer and they also like putting a swing on traditional features to make them more unique. The team at Cake Poker has huge ambitions of making this the number one online poker room out there and although there no where close yet they have become one of the top five poker rooms in only four years in my opinion. Cake Poker runs there own software which they have developed to become one of the most unique poker room software suites we’ve seen yet in this industry. They have an extensive avatar feature with many options for players too choose from. Just like other poker rooms you can view your stats while you’re at the table and also take notes of your opponents. Overall I found the Cake Poker software to run very quickly compared to other poker rooms and the amount of hands played per hour on the whole is more at Cake Poker then any other. I was very pleased with the software that Cake Poker has produced and I think as more people try it out it will become more popular.
Games
There are a variety of stakes offered at the Cake Poker room, but most of the action is played at the lower level stakes including many players at the micro limits. There is a healthy amount of tournament players who fill up the tables throughout most of the day. Cake Poker has a nice selection of poker games as well including Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Seven Card Stud. Most of the poker games are available in pot limit, fixed limit and no limit.
Traffic
The traffic isn’t too big at the Cake Poker room yet, but Cake Poker doesn’t share there player network with anyone else which means they have a tougher time building up there player base. Over the years they’ve been open I feel they’ve attained a nice chunk of active poker players, but I would expect more traffic to start flowing through the poker room within another year or two. During the peak hours in Cake Poker you’ll find roughly 2000-3000 players in the poker room.
